The medieval castle was owned by the Cqlonna family when their estate were confiscated by Alexunder VI, in 1501, The Castello of Sangallo eventually came into possession of Lucrezia Borgia’s daughter and her second husband, Alfonso of Aragon. Alexander VI added to the castle but all of the property was later return- ed to the Colonna family. Once again the Colonna family lost the Castello of ‘Sangallo but recov- ered it when the people of the dis- trict revolted in their favor. The castle was later sold to Clement VIII for 400,000 ducats and it re- mained in the possession of the church until 1831 when it was sold for the same price to the Borghese family. It became state property in 1870 and since then has passed into various hands and now is in sore need of repair.’ Instead of the picturesque old Col- onna servitors or Papal Guards, the castle is guarded by the Fascisti militia, dressed in black shirts, who extend the Roman salute to Musso- lini as he enters and leaves the gates, NOTICE OF REAL ESTATE MORT- GAGE FORECLOSURE Notice is hereby given that that certain mortgage made, executed and delivered ty Bert Bailey and Agnes A.
