Coleman’ of Minneapolis, dis- trict manager of the board, ‘The change in the rule is the re- sult of agitation by county eleva- tors, largely farmers co-operative elevators, who have maintained that the present rule 10 of the interstate commerce commission is unfair to the farmers’ elevatots. Former Pro Rata Basis The old rule provided that cars hould be furnished to the elevators pro rata; that is, if there were three cars to be distributed in one town and there were three elevators, caeh elevator would get one car. Fire Causes Small Loss Fire caused by someone carelessly throwing a cigarette stub in a pile of leather soaked with oil caused a fire about 9 o’clock last night in the harness shop of J. A, Wallace, Broad- way near Sixth street. The fire was extinguished with little loss. The department threw no water. Condemns Building The state fire marshal has ordered condemned buildings. on lots 3 and 6, corner of Avenue A and Third streets, except for the grocery store on the corner. The bujldings are owned by E. G. Patterson. Proceed- ings have been instituted in dis- trict court in the condemnation.
