The stage settings and the cos- tumes worn by the actors had much to do with presenting the players to their’ best advantage. Webb Bros. furnished the setting, S. E, Bergeson & Son supplied the costumes worn by the men; the Rose Shop and Webb Bros. furnished the gowns worn by the girls. The beautiful afternoon gowns, capes and hats, worn by the actors enhanced the charm of the young la- dies. The play was a clever three-act comedy written by one of the most popular playwriters. The plot was woven around the fact that a per- son could not tell the absolute truth, either in a business or a social way, and “get by” in‘either position. Tex rence Halloran ‘took the part of Rob ert Bennett, a young business man who bet ten thousand dollars that he could tell the ‘absolute truth for twenty-four hours in the course of the development of the even tenor, of his life. His business associates took {up the bet and the fun com- menced. The sober way in which Halloran presented his argument, the scinti- lating replies which he put across, and the charming way in which he threw himself into the part of the character which he was representing was all that was necessary to bring forth the applause of the audiefice.
