After their re- turn they will make their home in Mandan. | Young People Give Farewell Picnic _An informal farewell picnic will be given for Miss Gertrude Hoffman to- morrow evening at Apple Creek by the Epworth League and the Harris Hustlers of the Methodist church. All the young people of the church are invited to attend the picnic which will be a weiner roast. They will meet at the church promptly at 6:15 o’clock when cars will be waiting to take: the crowd to the creek. Miss Hoffman who has been pianist at the church for a number of years will be great- ly missed when she leaves the city for her new home in the middle west. Vacation Bible School] to Begin Enrollment in the Daily Vacation Bible school class will take place 10 o’clock Saturday morning, June 10, at Will's school. All the boys and girls in the city, from kindergarten age up, who enjoy singing, story telling, and playing games, are invited to join this class which will last for just 12 weeks. Martin Makes Report on Schools In his reports for the schoo1 year City Supt. J. 'M. Martin reports that jtherg was a total of 1,689 boys and |girls in the city schools during the past term. Of this number the girls !outnumbered the boys by just five. While 86 girls came to the city schools from the country there were only 37 boys from the country. In high school 79 girls were sent in ‘from the country, as against only 22 | boys. The high school enrollment reached a total of 393 students this year with the girls outnumbering the boys by 57.
