These were ex- ceptionally weil bred and well fatted Shorthorn grades. The 18 head aver- aging 1145 pounds brought $8.75 from a packer. A fair showing of other sales of best fat steers and steers and heifers mixed of the lighter weights have been made at $3.25 up to $8.75, with bulk of dryfed beeves at the close $7.25 to $8.00, relatively few as low as $7.00 or less. Best offerings of fat cows and heif- ers of the lighter weights sold from $6.25 up to around $8.00, with bulk of butcher she-stock at $4.00 to $6.00. Canners and cutters brought $2.75 to $3.75, feeding cows $3.25 to $4.25. Bologna bulls sold at $8.50 to $4.25. Market for veal calves finished with best lights selling from $8.25 to $8.75, a few up to $9.00 and $9.25. Seconds brought $4.50 to $6.00.
