Dean Knute Froysaa, head of the mu. sic department of the Mayville state normal school;' Robert ‘Ambrosius, cellist for the ‘Chicago Symphony .or- chestra and Dean ‘A. J. Stephens, di-{ rector of the Fargo College Conserva- | tory of Music, were memibers. of the all-state orchestra which played for the musica) festival. The chorus, which was made up of 250 voices, representing practically al) of the music clubs of the state, wai’ directed iby 'Prof. E. H. Wilcox, head of the music department of the Uni- wWersity of North Dakota. Professor Wilcox's, work was remarkable, it is said, and the work of the clu chorus ‘was exceptiona]. Each club had re- hearsed the music in its ‘home towns, and after arriving at Grand Forks, but one recital was held. This is the first event of this nature ever held in North Dakota, in connection with the meeting of the federation.
