EASTER SEASON The Bismarck Rotary, club at its noon luncheon today at the McKen- zie hotel gave an Easter program. Ta- bles, were -attractively decorated in Easter lilies and’ the general spirit of the Haster-tide ‘prevailed. Many spe- cial guests were invited to participate in the program, Rey, Postlethwaite gave the Easter message which in outline gave the biblical and historical significance of Easter. He defined how \the Easter celebration was adapted from a pagan ‘ceremony that hailed the advent oi spring. It was customary, he said, in the'early days to take great events. in ‘pagan ceremony and give them a Christian significance, Rev, Dewhurst in his address on Easter customs described the super. stitions that grew up around the cele- bration of Easter. He sketched some of the picturesque ceremonies that characterized Easter in the early days of the church.
