Arguments of the American Legion for adjusted compensation to former service men were given to a large number of members of Lloyd Spetz Post No. 1 and members of the Wo- men’s Auxiliary of the Legion last night. P. G. Haringtoh, adjutant of! the post, explained the adjusted com- pensation Dill, and detailed the at- titude of the Legion. The present bill in congress is not a benus Dill, Mr. Harrington said, and asserted that the former service man} did not want a bonus for his service. What is asked, he said, is an adjust- ment in pay as between the high qom- pensation of civilian workers during the war period and the $30 a month of the sarvice man, And in figuring the adjustment, the Legion does: not! ask or consider the loss of two price- less years in the economic life of the young men in the war, he said. . D., Feb, 28.—Holding that the affidavits on which search war- rants were issued to state officers ray, in county court, hag dismissed two cases involving charges of sell- ing intoxicating Hquor. The case was a test suit upon the legality of the search warrants, which the former attorney general, William Lemke, 18 said to have approved.
