J THE BISMARCK TRIBUNB \ PAGE THREE Social and Personal American Legion Auxiliary Is | New Name Chosen! pees Hl At the first National convention of| the’ Women’s Auxiliary to the Ameri- can Legion held at Kansas City, Mo., it was decided to change the name ot; the organization to the American Le-{ gion Auxiliary. i Mrs, Hobart of Ohio, was elected) national president. North Dakota was; very active in the election- of Mrs.! Hobart. One of the main planks of! Mrs. Hobart’s platform is to have a; hospitalization committee with a! member from each state. When one| state has.some of North Dakota’s boys in their hospitals they are to; get in touch with our member of the! committee and as far as possible have | the wounded boys exchanged so they | may be jn their own state. The ndtional headquarters of the or- ganization will be at \ Indianapolis. The constitution drawn up at this con- vention is very similar to that of the American Legion, Important resolu- tions regarding legislation for dis- abled soldiers were made. The convention was opened by Na- tional Commander Emery of the American Legion. The members ot the American Legion Auxiliary were the guests of the Legion and heard the talks given by General Foch, Gen- eral Pershing, Admiral ‘Beatty and \ General Diaz. The next meeting will be held at New Orleans, Louisiana, about the last of October next year. All Are Invited to Attend Meeting (Much interest is being taken in the entertainment to be. given by the Bia- marck chapter of the Sons and Daugh- ters of Norway lodge, Friday, No- vember 11, at the K. of P. hall. Cards will form: the diversion for the earlier part of the evening. Several prizes will be given. The entertainment be- gins promptly at nine o'clock. A var- ied program of wocal and instrumental music that will appeal to all, been’ planned. Lunch will be served at the close of the evening. The Sons and Daughters of Nor- way are starting a drive for members and they hope this entertainment will acquaint the people of Bismarck with their organization. All are invited to attend the enter-| tainment. Legion and Auxiliary To Hold Joint Meetings/ Joint meetings of the American Le- gion and the Ladies Auxiliary prob- ably will be held in the near future so that a social hour can follow the tran- saction of business of the two organ- izations. The plan was suggested last night at a meeting of the Legion. The next meeting of the Legion, two weeks from last night will be ad- dressed by Judge A. M. Christianson) |. visiting in the city. ~ of the supreme court. Dr. J, O. Some of.the Elks ‘aiding in the arrangements for the dance are also members of the American Legion and are aiding in the produetion of the American Legion play and they be- lieve the dance will be a fitting finale to the evening’s entertainment. Moreau) Paris, Nov. 10—You've heard of her of course, the woman who never grew old, the Glorious Ninon, of the Court of Louis XIV. Ninon de L’Enclos, the woman who defeated the years with her marvel- ous beauty secrets, lived ninety years. Her por:reits, painted at the age of and 75, prove that Ninon — never really reached middle ‘age. Ninon— while old and shriveled—was uncon- scious of the passing years! ‘Ninon remained lovely, 1 'Ninon was a marvel then—but not today! ‘For every second woman, even yourself, perhaps, is a Ninon who refuses, quite refuses, to let the years leave any mark as they pass! Two many little patters and too easy to make soft creams which keep: skin youthful and pliant! There is probably no portion if the body which ages more quickly than the neck. ,It shows the fine little lines and it sags and gets yellow. So, your neck must have a little attention every day, Cream helps. Keeps lines away and the right cream will keep it white. A cream with a bit of almond oil is geod and you, can make one yourself quite easily. Melt together in a double boiler 2 ounces of spermaceti and an ounce of oil of almonds. Stir in three ounces of glycerin and 1-2 ounce of balsam of Peru. Remove from the fire and beat until smooth and cool, ‘This is an excellent cream for use ‘at night before retiring—it softens and whitens. SUPPLIES MURPHY BEDS.
