Mrs. Porterville of Griggs county believes that their county can claim the honor of the most boys in the ser- vice from one family. Mr. and Mrs. ©. P. Balkan had five sons in the ser- vice. "In Mrs. Amidon’s\letter she says: “Mrs. Orr, of Burleigh county, has {completed a very excellent organiza- ‘tion. She has excellent committee chairmen on no-militant and civilian war organizations; another for the collection of letters, diaries, photo graphs and trophies; a third for news- paper files, and a fourth for publicity. With the work so well organized it is certain that Burleigh county will do efficient work.” Twenty-six counties have sent in their Red Cross (History. It is expect- ed that more counties will be heard ‘from soon. Mrs, Hasbrouck Will Give Address! at B. and P. W. Rooms ! ‘At the meeting of the Women's ‘Community Council held at the Rest Room Saturday afternoon a number oi ‘items of community interest were taken up and discussed. ‘A report was given on the results of the Community party given at the ‘Country Club which showed that $150 had been cleared. This sum is to be used for the maintenance of the Rest BRoom.. It was voted to have Mrs. Ira Has- brouck of Rhode Island, who also|’ spoke at Fargo at the meeting of the State Federation of Women’s clubs, to talk to. the women of. Bismarck next Saturday afternoon at four o'clock. This meeting will be held at the Busi- ness and Professional ‘Women’s club ropes. Mrs; Hasbrouck’s topic will be “Remedy for sex problems.” All girls above, the sixth grade are urged to attend this meeting. To Have Charge of Activity Point System at University The many Bismarck friends of Miss Wallie Dirlam will be pleased to know that she was elected to take charge of the girls’ activity point system at the University of North Dakota as the result of an election held at the uni- versity. Each. class elected a girls’ president who will serve on the ju-j; diciary body of the Women’s Senate. and Miss Dirlam, as president of the Junior class will also have as her special work the point system grad ings. Others elected as girls’ class presidents include ‘Majella Clark, _ Jamestown, for. the Senior class; Eve- lyn Suter, Grafton, for the Sophu- mores, and Miss Palmer for the Fresh- men.
