There | were nine delegates from this state,| clubs at Fargo, Devils Lake, Grand Forks and Jamestown, also were rep- resented. iss Beach was very much pleased with the personnel of the convention. It was not a body of militant suffra- gettes, but rather a group of sane, well-poised, successful business wo- men, who are joined to become ac- quainted with each other, to assist in meeting each others problems, and with a view to mutual betterment. The question of protective legisla- tion for women was discussed pro and con, and the consensus of opinion was that women can never fully develop along business and professional lines if their hours of labor must be limit- ed, and if a minimum wage is not ne- cessary for men it should not be ne- cessary for women. The only class of women who need such legislation are young girls with no initiative, who, course must be considered thought- fully. En route to Bismarck, Miss Beach spent a few days at the home of her parents in Ann Arbor, Michigan. Miss Kolling, who is visiting at the home of her brother at Nary, Minn., will return to Bismarck about the fif- teenth of August. ENTERTAINS FOR NIBCE. Mrs. EK. B.
