Anderson Hurling | Bismarck defeated Mandan at base- ball, 5 to 0, in Mandan last evening. Bismarck, allowed but two hits. He had only two strike-outs but Man- dan batters, while they hit the ball, could not connect safely. Lehman might have got one of the hits in left field had he not had to dodge race jhorses which had got loose. Ander- son walked 2 men. Potter, star Dickinson _ pitcher, was in the box for Mandan. He had 13 strike-outs and allowed but 6 hits but was wild and some of the Bis- marck hits came at the time they were needed. He struck out men several times with runners on bases. He walked 6 men. | The game was. unusual in many re- 'spects. The feature was the, large number of infield putouts. Wing- field, Bismarck first baseman, had 19 putouts. Bismarck scored in the second inning when Wingfield was hit by a pitched ball,, was sacrificed to second by Ellis, stole third and scored on a passed ball. In the sixth Lehman singled, Wing- field singled, sending Lehman to third, and stealing second himself, and both scored on Ellis’ long single.
