The dance will be in charge of the Elks band. It is hoped a great crowd will attend so that a large sum may be realized for the pool. LADIES INTERESTED IN SCHOCL The interest taken by the ladies of Bismarck in the Domestic Science |! School at the American Legion Hall is growing daily and all who attend are agreed that it is a most profit- able way to spend an afternoon. The lecture this afternoon was on pie crust and cake making and proved of interest. to every lady present. Mazola is used in the making of pie crust’ instead of solid fat. ‘Mazola has been on the market for seven vears and during: that time ma improvements have been made in it. Miss Tyner continued saying~ that Mazola was no longer a substitute but could’ be used‘ every place’ butter, lard or olive oil is used. LET CULVERT CONTRACTS The county commissioners have let contracts for the construction of reinforced: concrete cuiverts to J. C. Young, of Bismarck, as follows: 1 culvert between Sibley Butte and Trygg townships; 1 culvert between séctions 5 and 6 in Christiania; 1 culvert between Harriett and Wing townships; 1 culvert between Naugh- ton and-Croft townships. SCHOOL BOARD MEETS The city school board held a meet- ing today and because not all mem- bers were present adjourned. The school board has several thousand dollars worth of bills to pay and is unable to get a check given by the county treasurer cashed, All salaries were paid, according to board mem- bers.
