Knappen, retiring treas- urer, to compel the return to the treas- ury of money placed on certificates of deposit in the Bank of North Dakota, According to attorneys for the tax- payers the apportionment money due the political sub-divisions of the coun- ty amounts to $359,339.01, while the treasurer had an open account with the Bank of North Dakota $251,495.70. The county treasurer. thus is short about $100,000 ia meeting the appor- tionment, it is said. ‘The amount of general fund placed on certificate of deposit by Mr. Knappen, and which ts nivolved in legal controversy, is $150,- 000. ‘Treasurer J.
