L. Young at her home on Ave- nue B, on Wednesday afterifoon. The hours were from three to five thirty, When about eighteen neighbors and friends were bidden to spend the af- ternoon in the fascinating work of} putting finishing touches on numerous; articles of the trousseau. Toward the close of the afternoon lunch was served on small. tables in the dining room and sun paflor. Placed on the bride's table wag a white basket tied with pink tulle, containing packages to open during the lunch. - Many love- ly gifts were discovered. The decora- tion.scheme was in\pale pink, carna- tions and, roses adding pretty color notes in the cozy home‘of the hostess. W. C. T. U. CONVENTION The district’ convention of W. C. T. U. will be held in Bismarck May, 17 and 18, meetings to be held in the Community room of the elty library. On the evening of the 17th a “Mothers and Daughters” supper will be given at the basement rooms of the Baptist church on Fourth street, to which all mothers and, daughters interested in the uplift of the city are most cor- dially invited. Following the supper, un evening program will be rendered | in the main auditorium of the church, | when Margaret Forbes .Clifford, state superintendent of the Young Peo- ple’s, Temperance Union will, speak. She will also make a short address at the’dinner. Mrs: Amy Spaulding, of Chicago, a specialist in the very im- portant field of Americanization will also speak during the evening meet- ing. Mrs. .N. Buck, field supervisor, from Jamestown, will be here. These noted workers, together with many lo- cal people, will be on the program for the two-day convention, ahd it is hoped that goodly numbers may turn out to hear the messages brought by those earnest workers, rs. A, W. Carlson and Mrs, Mc- Carter are on the reception. committee. Mrs. Finwall and Mrs. Ralph Penner are the entertainment committee. SONG RECITAL FRIDAY EVENING From the names appearing on the program for the song recital of Mrs. Florence Scheffer's class in vocal training, it is evident that a delight- ful program is in preparation. Mrs. Arthur’ Bauer, Mrs. / John Miss Elsie Bauer, Miss Effi Miss Eleanore Gus 3 Thrams, Mrs. W. J. Targart, Pex Berndt will ‘appear, with Mrs. Henry Doerr as accompanist. Mrs. Seneier will welcome all friends of the class members and others who are interested in vocal music. Because space is limited in the Parish house of. the Episcopal church, the director is unable to issue a general invitation, but hopes that the «music loving peo- ple may feel free to come and enjoy the program.
