'C.S. Reed was warden at Stillwater until July and since that time J. J. Sullivan has been warden. In the warden’s report, submitted to the state board of control, the pop- ulation of the prison on June 30, 19: is given as 848, including nine wo men, as compared to 871, including 17 women, at the beginning of the per- lod. There was a decrease of sixty- five inmates admitted for the period as. compared with the previous two- year period, there being 579 admitted in the 1918-1920 period as compared to 644.in the 1916-1918 biennium. The prison industries are in a pros- perous condition, according to the rex port, and are more than sufficie! provide work for all inmates and an increase that is probable for the next few years. During the two-year per- jod $188,077.33 was paid to inmates in wages. Much of that sum was sent to relatives and dependents of prisoners and relieved townships, counties and the state of supplying funds to care for people who otherwise would have needed charity.
