Lucas & Co. arrived at an adjustment with the insurance com- panies Friday covering loss by smoke in, their ready to wear section a week ago during the fire that wiped out the store of the Eagle Hat Works. Mr, Lucas announced today that the sale would begin Tuesday morning. Prices have been slashed from twenty to fifty per cent, on suits, Coats, dresses, waists, shoes, etc. There will be no charges, no approvals or no goods reserved. Sullivan, assistant sec- retary of the Missouri Slope fair as- sociation announced this morning that the reduced railroad fare of one- half the regular rate for a round- trip ticket, had been secured on the Linton branch. When the fare opens Sept. 14 re- duced rates will be in effect on all the surrounding railroad lines. Special trains will be run daily between Man- dan and Bismarck. ELKS WILL HELP WELCOME MANDAN FAIR BOOSTERS| When the Mandan men boosting a Missouri Slope fair arrive here some night next week the Elks’ band and a big crowd will be on hand to welcome them. The Elks were to have a pavement dance last evening, but on account of the poor weather it was postponed. The Elk’s committee now plan to hold their pavement dance the same night that the Mandan Boosters visit Bis- marck. The final arrangements have not been completed as yet, but present plans are to make Friday evening the big night..
