Howard Taft will speak Tues- day afternoon at Valley City under {the auspices of the Valley City Chau- tanqua association, according to in- formation received from Valley City today. The Valley city Chautauqua will open its 1920 program Saturday af- ternoon, July 26th. The opening will be “Children Day.” The management feels that the 1920 program is the strongest ever offered. The follow- ing are a few of the attractions bill- ed: The Alice Schrode Co., The Fin- ley Kiltie Band besides many solo- ists. Other speakers besides the former president are Dr. E. L. The Bismarck club meets the Brad- dock club, which is credited with be- ing the strongest team in this part of the state. They have not been de- feated more than once or twice this season. If the local club can slip off a couple of games it will certainly mean that the Bismarck club can stand along side of the best. The Bismarck line-up will be prac- tically the same as before, with Need- ham pitching and Powers catching. It is probable that Chief Roy, the right paw, will be a chance on the mound. The chief his been showing pretty good form lately. Christianson, a former pitcher will also be on hand, The first game between Braddock and Bismarck is scheduled to start at three o'clock, July 4. The next one will be.on July 5 at 10:30. At 5:30 the same day the Bismarck club will meet the Underwood team. The Underwood team is one of the strongest teams in this part of the scountry.. Recently they defeated the strong Stanton club. Everyone should be out July 4 and GOES BEGGING|* 5 and boost. The home team needs it and it will make a better impression on the visitors to see the whole town back of their team. Thursday night the first of a series of ten games will be played with Man- an.
