f [NEW PLAN FOR MINOT» TWO CALL IS ANNOUNCED (Continued From Page One) to exceed a dozen of these men, stand ; as to preference in candidate for any | state office, and as to such men they are divided in such preference. In as much as the new members named in re-constructing the Republican State Central Committee, and the new! County Chaifmen,-were chosen by the Anti-Townley republicans of the Dis- trict or County from which they were appointed, and were so named solely because they were considered the pro- per men to carry on the fight in the | community from which they were ap- pointed, it did not seem that. there; was reason for such proposition being | opposed. ‘The men selected to fill these offices were and are largely strangers to the, undersigned, and it is fair to presume strangers to each other and to the other members of the -state central | committee and other County chair-} men; it seemed advisable that the} | be gotten to this convention, where they could become acquainted with the men they would be expected to work with during the campaign, and could while there get the campaign actually started. Both the State Central Committee and the undersigned have sought to; guard against any action that might be by anyone construed to be for or against the candidacy of any man; and the undersigned appreciates that the unwarranted driticism of the acts of the committee of 21, has lead some well meaning Republicans to believe the naming of State Central Commit- teemen as Delegates at Large to the convention, might favor the candidacy of some aspirant for office; and as; proof of their being absolutely noth- ing in such charge, I submit here the names of the Republican State Cen- tral Committee who would thus- have been seatgd as delegates: i J. E. Lee, Neche; J. J. Kehoe, Can- do; A. E, Paulson, Kenmare; James Buchanan, Buchanan; Gilbert Erick- son, Lankin; F, B. Oakley, Edgeley;.A.. J. Miller, Minto; C. E. Know, Oakes; G. R. Let me further say that at the meet- ing of the Committee of 21, every sug- gestion which became a part of the Lachli Woo pragram we adopted, was passed and |. approved by a unanimous vote of the 20 eombers “who were pregent, 10 Re- publicans and 10 Democrats. Revises The Call Howeyer, in view of the unwarrant- '-! ed criticism of the recommendation that State Central Committeemen and the Republican Members of. the Executive’ Committee of the | V, A. be seated as Delegates at Largq in the convention, and that there may be absolutely no ground for any person, whatever his purpose, claiming that any candidate will not,be given a square deal at this State Republican Convention; in the call for such con- vention, which I as Chairman of tne State Committee will issue shortly, it will be recommended to the several | county conventions that they eleci jas’ delegate to the state convention, their County Shairman, and any Member of the State Central Committee and any Republican member of the Executive Committee of the I. V. A. residing in such county, believing their being present in Minot, getting acquainted with their fellow workers and mem- bers, and then and there perfecting an organization and plan of campaign which will elect the ticket named, of material importance. = The recommendation of the com- mittee of 21 so far as the same applies to the proposed Republican State Con- vention, has been modified to the ex- tent tha€ there will be no reco*amen- dation that-any one, be seated as a delegate to such convention, other than those elected to such office; ana the undersigned believes such modifi- cation in the proposed recommenia- one te to be entirely satisfactory to the I Sincerely, TREADWELL TWICHELL, Chairman Anti-Townley Republican State Central Committee.
