A committe composed of Major Geo. Russ, Jr., O. The legion went’ on record as endorsing and agreeing to cooperate with Dr. F. R. Smyth in controlling and stamping out venereal diseases. The legion unanimously agreed to take an active interest in politics and that all public men from this section who did not’measure up to true 100 per cent Americanism, either in speech or action would be ousted from office. This included draft dodgers, Liberty bond slackers, those who did not con- tribute their fair proportion to the various welfare work drives, support- ers of the red flag of socialism and alien enemies who claimed exemption from military service because they said they were citizens of other coun- ties and now wish to obtain their cit- izenship papers. In pass- ing the resolution the legion members said “there is nothing more important before the entire country today, not even the peace treaty with its league of nations covenant than the prompt and/ proper assistance to the wounded soldiers which is impossible under the present vocational training bill.” The Loyd Spetz post now has 350 members which entitled them to eight delegates to the convention but anoth- er 50 will probably be enrollled before the close of the time limit, Sunday, which will give the post another rep- resentative. # To Fight Red Flag Resolutions will be passed at the. next meeting of the Post next Thurs- day night instructing the delegates to the state convention to introduce The Verdict Essex to the severest possible tests. cal service as well as luxurious motoring.
