Visiting at Woodruff Mrs. Max Kupitz and family left on Monday for Woodruff, where they will spend a week as guests of the A. D. Anderson family. Home From Vacation. ‘Miss Emma McGarvey of the In- ternational Harvester Co. clerical force returned from her vacation which she spent at Dickinson. Goes to Black Hills. ' J. D. Wakeman, in charge of the city scales, is spending a few days in the Black Hills. Mr. Wakeman will return to Bismarck next Tuesday. Banker Visits Capitol. H. E. Wildfang of the State bank. ‘at Sterling was in Bismarok Wednes- day on business. ‘Mr. Wildfang vis- ited the capitol and the court house. Visiting Parents. Mr. and Mrs. N. F. Leslie of Min- neapolis are visitors in the capital city as guests of Mrs. Leslie’s par- ents,-Rev. and Mrs. William Suckow, 811 Avenue C. To Take Motor Trip. ‘Mr. and Mrs. C. B. Rosen and son of Rose apartment are motoring down to the Twin Cities and lakes. They are accompanied ‘by their sister, Miss Blanch Halpern of Hebron. i Abstractor Home. Mrs, C. S. Rietan of the Burleigh County Abstract company returned today: from Devils Lake where she at- tended the meeting of tie state or- ganization of abstract companies. Attended Homecoming. Col. and Mrs. Frank White of Val- ley City were in Fargo for the home- coming day celebration and were guests of Mr.and “Mrs. W. L. Stock- well, who were formerly residents of the capital city. Attended Celebration. Mrs. Angus Fraser, wife of Adjatant general: Fraser of Bismarck, was among the many visitors in Fargo ‘Monday for the homecoming day fes- tivities. Mrs. Fraser was accompan- ied by her son.—Fargo Forum. Returns to Germany. Karl W. Anderson; employed at the International Harvester Co., will leave Bismarck. August 1 for Germany. Mr. Anderson desires to visit relatives there from whom he has heard noth- ing since this country entered the war. Enjoyable Meeting. The second division of the Ladies’ Aid society entertained the entire di- vision of that society this afternoon at the parlors of the McCabe M. E. church. A splendid program had been prepared consisting of vocal and in- strumental numbers and readings, and among those to take part were Mes- son, O. B. Lund and the Misses Mar- garet Smith, Mabel Nathan and Miss Jones. The afternoon’s program being concluded with the serving of re- fresaments, To Take Vacation. ‘Miss Minnie Coulter of the adver- tising department of the Tribune, and a sister of Mrs. G. D, Mann, left this morning for Fargo, Grand Forks and Park River, where she will enjoy a two-weeks’ vacation visiting with friends. Stores Completed. The three stores on the Elks’ clw) property on Main street will be ready for occupancy the beginning of next week. Already two of these stores have been rented, one will be used as a vulcanizing shop and the other au- tomobdile supplies. Gonclude Visit. Harry Morgan and ‘his mother of Washburn, who visited in the capital city this week as guests of Mr. and Mrs. G. D. Mann, left this morning on No. 4 for St. Paul, where they will make their home. Mr. Morgan was formerly superintendent of the Wash- burn school. To Take Vacation. Miss Anna Johnson of the John- son shop has left on her vacation trip. Miss Johnson will first go to Grand Forks to remain at the other John- son shop while her brother takes his vacation, after which she will go on to Mankato and other points to spend several weeks. To Arrive Home Soon. Lieut. L. N. Belk, who arrived in New York on Friday from overseas service, is having a two-weeks fur- lough which the is. spending visiting with friends in West Virginia. He will return to New York and thence to Camp Dodge to be mustered out He plans to reach Bsmarck about August 10. Here Tuesday. Mr. and Mrs. Charles Hedland ot Underwood were visitors in the cap- ital city on Tuesday and stopped over here to spend a day on their way home from Eckelson, where they had ‘been visiting with a brother of Mrs Hedland. While in the capital city they were guests of Miss Alma Nord- quist, a bookkeeper at the City Na- tional bank. Returns from Overseas. Miss Mina Pollock, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. R. M. Pollock, Fargo, land- ed in New York on Tuesday evening. Miss Pollock was one of the North Dakota young women who had been engaged in Y. M. C. A. work, and had ‘been in canteen service in France, a owrker in the 81st division. She came to America on the ship Rotterdam, and is expected to arrive home with- in a few days. At Craswell Home. Miss Veronica Farrell of Carring- ton is visiting in the city at the home of Manager and Mrs. L. S. Craswell Miss Farell ‘has been making her home with her sister, Mrs. E. L. Pe- terson of Dickinson, for some time, and she will remain in the capital city during the absence of Editor and Mrs. Peterson who are in attendance at the National Press association con- vention. . Expected Home Soon. Dr. C. B. White is expected home soon from the east, where he has ibeen spending the past: two months. While gone the doctor has taken a post-graduate course in dentistry in Philadelphia, and ‘he also visited at Boston and many other eastern points. Dr.- J. A. Kasper of ‘Dr. White's offices left Tuesday morning in company with a party of Mandan friends for a motor trip to the Min- nesota lakes. He plans to return to Bismarck about August 1. To Return Monday Miss Jeanette Barnes, trimmer at Mrs. A. S. En route home they visited with friends at La Porte and Tipton, Ind. Relatives Fail to Arrive, Henry McCauley, a farmer residing near Baldwin, was in Bismarck today to meet his mother-in-law and two sisters-in-law from Iowa, who were to arrive on the afternoon train, but in some way missed connections. Educators Here. Thomas F. Kane, president of the university of North Dakota was in Bismarck attending the state board of education meeting at the capitol yes- terday. Dr. A. G. Long, director of the public health lavoratory at the state university, acoompani Prof. Kane. Both educators left last night. Olsness is Honored. S. A. Olsness, state commissioner of insurance, was elected vice president of the Telegalet society at its annual meeting in Fargo.
