The bank announces that until fur- ther notice it is prepared to make real estate loans at six per cent, the mortgagor being required to pay an- nually seven per cent of the loan and the difference between this seven per cent instalment and the six per cent interest being applied annually to the reduction of the principal. It is the hope of the committee of which Capt. E. G. Wanner is the head that every man in ‘Bismarck and the vicinity will contribute toward this fund so that this memorial will not only be an appreciation of our sol- diers but will also be proof of the united front Bismarck presented to the country’s enemies when its honor was at stake. “We hope every man in Bismarck will consider it a privilege to con- tribute towards this fund,” said Capt. Wanner this morning. “This money could be easily raised among a very few business men, but how much more fitting it is that a memorial to our soldiers should be the result of contributions from every men in Bis- marck and not a few. Money Wanted at Once. “We want this money immediately. We want to give our soldiers a wel- come-home celebration and the erec- tion of this flag pole should be part of those exercises. This celebration has been delayed long enough and I sincerely trust that there will be no further delays because the subscrip- tion list lags along until it totters io oblivion. “The women have done their share by raising funds to purchase a flag sufficiently large to fly from a flag- pole 125 feet high. Let it not be said that the women of Bismarck have more patriotism for their country and more appreciation for what our sol- diers have been through and done for us, than the men. This money must be raised this week and let it be every man’s business to see that he signs his name to the list without further delay.” OUTLOOK BRIGHT FOR OBTAINING ARMY AVIATORS Bismarck Expects to Greet Bird- men Next Month—Commit- ats The Kind You Have Always Bought THE CENTAUR COMPANY. Keniston, secretary of the commercial club, who has com- municated with George M. Young, con: gressman from North Dakota. The federal government will name a revenue collector for the state of North Dakota and there is intense riv- alry between. Fargo, Grand Forks, Valley City and Bismarck as to which city will house this office. Every pressure that Bismarck can bring to ‘bear on Washington will be exerted to obtain this office for the capitol city and the outlook is very promis- ing according to Mr. Keniston, Bismarck Logical Point. “Bismarck is the geographical cen- ter of the state and for this reason and many more, the internal revenue collector should be located here,” said Mr. Keniston today. “Our train service is such that letters dispatched to practically any city or town in North Dakota will reach there in time for business opening on the next day. “With the ‘secretary of state's of- fice located in Bismarck, the collect- or of internal revenue would have ac- cess to. the many records necessary in the performance of his. duties. Here the federal agent would receive thd best possible cooperation from the state officials, something that would ‘be very difficult if this office were located in any other city in the state.” F ———————— TO F.
