City Engineer Atkinson regards the specifications for Bismarck’s new paving as the best that have ever been offered in this section of the northwest, and he is confident that Bismarck will get an excellent job, When completed the capital city, which at this time three years ago did not have a single block of paving, aside from the driveways surround- ing the Northern Pacific station, will have 15 mles of modern streets. This improvement has done more to con- tribute to the progress of Bismarck than anything else undertaken during its almost 50 years’ existence, not excepting the bringing here of the territorial capital in 1883.
