(14; 1919. ee ae _ woe cse~ ~~ BY BISMARCK COUNCIL MONDAY Bismarck council, Knights of Co- lumbus, has arranged its second big initiation of the year for next Mon- day, when 75 candidates, representing all parte of the Slope, will be inducted into the mysteries of the order. The ceremonies will open at 8:30 a. m., when Columbians and candidates will attend mass at St. Mary’s pro-cathe- dral in a body, and they will termi- nate with a grand ball following an! élaorate banquet to be served knights and their. ladies in the evening. . The first degree will be conferred | immediately after mass; the second! degree will begin at 1:30 in the after- noon, and will be followed at once by the third degre. At 7 p. m. the Daugh- ters of Isabella will serve a banquet at the Knights of Columbus hall to members and their ladies. During the banquet toasts will be responded to by Rev. Father Malloy of Grand BISMARCK NURSE WRITES FROM NICE Mrs. Alfred Zuger was in in re-| ceipt of a communication from Miss Louise Frankhauser, formerly of Bis- marck, and a graduate of the Bis- marck hospital. ‘Miss Frankhauser was one of tie first nurses in the state to enlist in the Red Cross service. She is now can arlocated at Coblenz, Germany, in charge of the largest civilian hospital, which’ was taken by the American army. She ‘saw the most exacting and dangerous service on the Meus, at Verdun, at Chateau Thierry and in the Argonne. Miss Frankhauser went overesas with the John Hopkins. unit’ which became evacuation hos- pital unit No. 6. She writes that she is having a two- weeks’ leaves from her duties, and that this is her ‘first vacation since “her return from being in active serv- ice on the firing line. Part of the fortnight's vacation will‘ be spent at Nice, and from there Miss Frank- hauser will go to Monte Carlo on a further sightseeing trip before resum- ing her duties at Coblenz. This former Bismarck nurse has been in active service for two years. The first year she spent’ in the base hospital in New York city, and the past year she -has been located in France and Germany. Her many friends here will be very glad to hear that’ she-is getting along nicely, and will be. pleased- when seh returns.
