Well, sayg he: “I don’t think I want to buy any land in North, Dakota.” Well, says I, “Why not?” Well, says he, “The Nonpartisan League is going to ruin North Dakota.” Well, says I, “I have lived in North Dakota for a great many years, and I rentember of Yeading a pjece of history in re- gard to a great navigator who sailed the seas for years and years ‘and no one cotild take him away from his ship, and during a ter- rible ‘storm off the coast of Africa, his sailors who had been with him for years and years, at once saw that the ship was going down in the storm, and they begged of him, “O, dear old captain, for goodness sake come into.the, life boat. ”” His reply was, “No, sir, never. ‘I have sailed this ship ‘for years and years, and when this ship sinks I am goihg to sink with it.” And I feel the same towards North Dakota-and the Nonpartisan League. If the Nonpartisan ‘League sinks North Dakota, then in that case, I am going to sink too. ij Well, says he, you say you ‘have 4,000 acres of land for sale ‘jn Burleigh ‘county, North Dakota, Well, says I, yes. Says he; Will you give me the description of that land? Says I, cert&inly.7 So I gave him the price of the land, and the price nearly “knocked grandfather off the Christmas tree.” : \A certain indfvidwal in North Dakota: asked him beyond $20.00 per acre. I whispered softly in his ear and told him my price was $17.00 per acre. His reply was, Isn’t that good, and I informed him that the Nonpartisan League was passing a special law which ~ states that a real estate man selling land must state very plainly the amount of commission he is making on the land, which in. my estimation is a proper ohh and which should have been passed , years ayo. So I told im that if he would come to North Dakotsé and buy jand, the real estate sharks would not skin him, for the reason that the new bill that is introduced before the present legislature will limit the commissions, and his reply. was, Isn't that fine! Fine! He informed me that he atid a dozen of pris friends are com- ing up in the next two weeks to inspect the 4,000 acres of land of mine, and I anticipate he will buy it. : Now, in regard to this 4,000 acres of land: It-is in the north- ern part of Burleigh county and if I had asked $40.00 per acre for it last year I would have sold it. However, I do not want to be accused of being a hog, and I will sell this very desirable piece of Mand for $17.00 per acre, on very desirable payments., Deferred payments draw 6 per cent interest, If interested, telephone, fele- graph or write. : Be THA Lucas Block. ) LAND” LOANS — » OLIHAN ~~ Phone 745 INSURANCE sitter on of the chapter, port of the work | relieved | saved i | ports ithe thotsands of lives. a léading Chicago chemist, im- ingredients. and” | aiiments, which issréported to have incalculable: ‘suffering, pre- nted many’ surgical operations and |incluging appendicitis.
