BISMARCK DAILY TRIBUNE _ (THE RECONSTR RUCTION” Today we turn from the grim business of v war 6 the great peamercal economic and industrial’‘problems _ of PEACE. Bismarck, like every other great city in the world, must face these problems: but she will face them with a great advantage.’ Here, no great inflation of population has occurred. Other cities, because of war con- tracts, cantonments, shipping facilities, location or environment hava, f or. the time’ being only, more population than they can properly care for. Most of this population they will lose now that Péace has come and these activi- ties must cease. ° Great plants that have been working day and night i in those cities turning: out 2 ouns, ammunition, clothing and equipment for soldiers and other necessities to the winning of ane war, must now be converted into agencies ~ for the manufacture oftother things. This means time and the loss of thousands of laborers who will go to ‘ ed other cities that can givathem immediate employment. pf | oo a Re fe ALS SAD Bismarck is in an enviable position. As soon as the ban is lifted there are many applicaticns for building permits ready to he filed. This alone will mean immediate employment for ever 200 skilled artisians and at least many additional common laborers. ee: These and a hundred other impr ovements, new factories, new commer rial establishments, new agencies of commerce to supply to the world our Prair ‘ie products, will attract thousands of men from every part of the country, from Canada and from overseas, and will mean a great, new, bustling, thriving, population for — Bis- marek the’,Queen of the American Prairies. Hantse t this new population that WILL NOW COME and will be 5 A PERMANENT ADDITION to our mort ‘than eh 500 people who are already here. What Will this mean to the owners of Bismarek Real Estate? The answer is plain. Since the war began we have seen the prices of food, of clothes, of arhusements, of building material, of everything we eat and wear . and use go soaring skywé ard. REAL ESTATE, however (the basis of all value), has remained stationary. To- day the great change begins. Inafew months the rents will begin to advance, improved property will start ub= ward in prices and desirable building lots will see a marked and steady increase in value. Bismarck is in for the biggest Real Estate boom in all her history—a boom that will have no reaction, one that will represent honest values that come from increased demand through increased population. “More Ad-Readers Than Ever Before ‘When yon see a fellow sitting on the “bank: of a stream, yanking in fish at a lively rate, you know there’s a HOOK on his line—and something on' the hook that is PISCATORIALLY FASCINATING, otherwise the fish wouldn’t PAUSE‘to nibble, but would swim right on ‘about their businéss., © Building up PRADE without NEWSPAPER AD- VERTISING is LIKE TRYING TO CATCH FISH WITH ° A NAKED STRING. ; _ Communities are GROWING, people are BUSY, the - families that it would be humanly possible for YOU to do : business with are SCATTERED and all the while moving” a “.competition is STIFF, RESOURCEFUL and TIRE- LESS—the man who tries to get by without PRINTER’S INK HAS THE CHANCE OF A PEé G-LEGGED MAN IN A MARATHON.
