THE NORTH DAKOTA LEADER, To the Editor: Iam much interested in your editorial entitled “Throwing Sand in People’s’ Eyes.” It is a fact that the press in some instances has become ad- dicted to that serious charge. In ‘this editorial you express a desire to discuss the proposed con- stitutional amendments. I am glad of this oppor- tunity to be enlightengd. In your article you state that the farm loan indebtedness of North Dakota is about $300,000,000: No doubt you have good authority for this statement. Where can I get the accurate statistics? These misstate- ments are serious and should be exposed. ~ Ihave also been informed that the Federal Land bank is ‘making 30-year loans to the farmers direct through their local association at 5 per cent which, * if paid until the end of the thirty-year period pays both interest and principal.
