There were present -Commis- sioners Lest, Bertsch, Thompson and President “Lucas. The | minutes of the meeting held August, 26th, 1918 were read and approved. A represent- ative of the Bismarck Gas Company {| appeared and asked that permission be granted them to rajse the rate charged tor gas. He presented fig- ures to w that the company had lost $6,1 2 in the last eight months. No definite action was taken in this matter. was presented by Commissioner Best and given its first reading. ‘The Taxi License ordinance was given its first reading. The Disorderly Conduct ord- inance was given its first reading. AS the street lighting tax against Lot 7, Block 52, original plat, had been paid in full, the city attorney was instruct-/ ed to satisfy a certain judgment ta- ten in the case of the Bismarck Na- tional bank. A number of monthly reports were received and filed. It} was decided to retire one fire hall bond and dne street crossing bond. The minutes of the meeting held Sep tember 18, 1918, were read and ap- proved. A communication was re- ceived from J. M. McGuire offering to find a purchaser at par for the $97,- 459.00 Improvement warrants for the sum of two per cent of the face value. A resolution was introduced accept- ing this offer. A communication was then read from the Iowa Surety Com- pany agreeing to pay par and accrued interest for the issue of $97,150.00 Im- provement warrants. A resolution was introduced accepting the offer of the Iowa Surety Companv. The resolu- tion passed. On motion of Commission- er Bertsch the-commission adjourned to meet again October 7, 1918.
