Smith of Beach was elected porsident of the North Dakota Tele- phone association for the ensuing year, and Valley City was selected as the site of the next annual convention at the closing session in this city last evening. A. J. McInnis of Dazey was elected vice president, and H. A. Liv- ermore of Fargo was re-elected secre- tary-treasurer. The association adopt- ed resolutions praying for the success and safe return of all North Dakota telephone men in the service, and es- pecially for Major F. . Shuman and Capt. Robinson at Chillicothe, O., Camp Sherman, and it recommended that railway commissioners be elected every two years for terms of six years instead of for two as at present. It was recommended that a-committee on legislation be named to meet in Bis- marck during the general assembly, andthe appointment of a committee on taxation was urged.
