There are garment. skin- of every real mal that reams the wilds, and ot! emarkably good looking coats:marked after beasts who never lived outside a furrier’s shop— garments that are inade into com- fortable, serviceable and comparative- ly inexpensive motor wraps. Such coats are usually untrimmed with any other skin and are given variety cnly by clever arrangements of the shad- ings or strippings of the fur itself. They can be made seven-eighths or full length and cut in either belted, double-breasted or straight styles as best suits the figure of the wearer. _More luxurious are the coats of Hud- son seal. This pelt is always in the height of fashion and it always will be, for nothing richer looking or more becoming to all types of figures was ever worn by woman. Hudson seal is handsomest trimmed and Kolinsky is the preferred garniture this year. An especially good cut for a motor coat is the new double-breasted coat of Hudson. seal_with the wide flare sleeves. that make it so easy to slip on over anything else. The state auditor Friday filed a formal reply to the state highway commission's peti- tion in support of a writ of mandamus issued by the court. He asserted that no bills of the state highway com- mission were then unpaid, and that he had never signifiied an intention to no allow any bills of the commis- sion which were approved by the state auditing board. He reiterated his intention of personally voting against the approval of these items, but stated that so long as his asso- ciates on the board overruled him, the bills of the commission would be paid. President Lahr is much pleased with prospects in the automobile business. In the speeding up process so neces- sary to America’s successful partici- pation in the war, he believes the automobile will play a prominent part as a necessity, rather than a luxury. As concrete evidence of his faith, the Lahr Motor Sales Co. this morn- ing began rearing the: walls for the third story. of its new home at the corner of Fourth and Broadway. The building was originally planned for three stories, and material was pur- chased for three, but bad weather early in the season made it doubtiu whether the third story could be com pleted, and it was decided to finish but two this fall. Recent warm weather enabled tue contractors to jay the slab concrete floor for the third story, and with another week of good conditions, the building will be enclosed.
