During the past several weeks the {business has been moving just the same as ever, and indications are that business will continue this fall. D., June 12.—-The Sith annual convention of the North Dakota Volunteer Firemen’s associa- tion opened here at 10 o'clock this morning, with an address of welcome by Mayor I. J. Moe of Valley City. P. Service Mandan, N. Frank Cass passed away athis home on Second avenue northwest yester- day afternoon. Death was due to heart trouble, from which he had been suffering more than two weeks. The deceased was one of the oldest engi- neers on the Northern Pacific railway and for the past three years had been running on the south branch. He was a member of the Brotherhood of Locomotive Firemen and other orders. He leaves a widow, two daughters, Mrs. Leo de Rochford of Bismarck, and Miss Hilma Cass of Mandan, and a son, Gilbert Cass, of Mandan. The! funeral has not been decided upon at the present time.
