He stated that the would not favor any amendments to the proposed ordi- nance introduced a week ago by Com- missioner Battey and that he wanted to see it cancelled, Two women were in the audience and each spoke against the measure. Others were heard, one gentleman stating he thought he had built his home on the outskirts of the city in order to have cows, chickens and horses, but that on reading the pro- visions of the proposed ordinance learned that he was in the restricted zone. Ordinance Seems Doomed. It was obvious from the stand tak- en by tne commissioners that the or- dinance is doomed, The measure comes up for final passage next Mon- day evening, the first reading having been given a week ago-jast night. About 25 were present to enter pro- tests. Seven were heard, after which Mayor Lucas stated that the matter would be given the attention of the commissioners and nothing would be done which would work ‘a hardship on the property owners. Boundaries Defined. The boundaries of the restricted zone are as follows: Beginning’ at the corner of Avenue C and Hannifin street, thence east to Third street, ‘thence north to boule- vard, thence east to Seventh street, thence south to Avenue C, thence east to Ninth street, ‘thence south to Main street, thénce .west ‘to Second street, thence north to ‘Avenue A, thence west to Hannifin and thence north to the place of beginning.
