Admission OFFICERS RESERVE CANDIDATES ASKED TO FILE ONGE MORE Owing to the fact that Central de- partment headquarters at Chicago are flooded with applications, Capt. B. F. Ristine, Bismarck examining officer for the officers’ reserve training camp to be established May 15 at Fort Snell- ing, asks that candidates from this dis- trict whose applications went in to Chicago and who have not heard from them, file duplicate applications and letters of recommendation with him. It is feared that unless this is done, there will not be time for the prelim- inary examinations, as there is no way of learning when the blanks may be returned from Chicago. It is emphasized that there is to be no technnical examination for the of- ticers’ reserve, and that the medical ex- amination will be made as light as possible. Only incapacitating defects, abnormities and deformities, or ob- noxious diseases, will result in the barring out of a candidate who other- wise are qualified. “WHITE RAVEN” TONIGHT First Picture Drama in Which Miss Barrymore Has Played Since Abandoning Speaking Stage. CRAIG FOR CONGRESS LATEST STRAIGHT DOPE FROM FIRST DISTRICT Ralph W. Craig, aig, sheriff of Ransom county, and son of Rev. R. H. Craig, formerly pastor of McCabe church in Bismarck and now with a charge at Dickinson, is the latest sure-enough favorite for the Republican nomination for representative, to succeed the late Henry T. Helgeson in the First dis- trict. Craig is a clean-cut young fellow who has made a name for himself and many admirers as well as a few enemies by the fearless manner in which he has enforced the law in: Ransom county. Politically, he is something of a pro- gressive and a reformer, but is not so unco-radical as to antagonize the conservatives. Capitol folk who know Craig well believe he would make a strong candi- date. He would, they say, prove the livest wire in the North Dakota dele- gation, and, if sent to Washington in his comparative youth, a brilliant car- eer is predicted by those who are fam- iliar with the ability of the young | sheriff.
