It states that the women of Ontario have won suffrage, “not ‘by agitation, but by service. This war is teaching many lessons, is solving many problems and is sighting political power more finely upon the questions of vital in- terest to the people. One of the things it has taught to the Entente nations is the value of the tremendous reserve force the commonwealth has in its womenhood. No one ever un- derestimated the immense import- ance of women in the domestic sphere, her part as the helpmeet of man in the struggle of life, her hu- manizing and refining influence upon the social life of the people, and her inspiration to the manhood of the country. ‘But it required the exigen- cy of war to reveal how great a stay oman: is to the state in time of trou- le, “Woman suffrage will undoubtedly lead legislation to new goals and will ‘break new paths of reform. Women are less likely to be revolutionary than men are. What is established in their interest is likely to remain es- tablished, so far as they as voters are concerned. Instead of uprooting, they are likely to foster the institutions that mean most to womankind and to the stability of the state. ‘We doubt if demagogues will find the mass of women voters as easy as the mass of men voters,” | Bismarck Library Moves Into New Quarters’ The Bismarck public library has been moved into new quarters just across the hall from its former loca- tion. The room was _ formerly used as a billiard hall by the Com- mercial club. It is large and well lighted and when properly fitted up will make an ideal reading room. The new room lacks many pieces of furniture to make it complete. One of the most needed is a long reading table. There is an ideal place before the large front windows for just such a piece of furniture. More chairs could be utilized and other furnish- ings to add to the attractiveness of the room. A special need is for the current; periodicals. A number of the best magazines is to be found on the maga- zine racks; but there are many more which are needed and which would qdd materially to the library. The book shelves have been put in- to place and the indexing of the books will shortly be completed, With the new headquarters patrons LOGAN'S- “We Thank You” Apples Apples Jumble Pack Winesaps, per box .. cee ee Fancy Bananas, per dozen, 25c and : . 30¢ Fancy Oranges, per dozen, Regular 35c and 50c sizes.
