Chief of Police Downing yesterday received word of the robbery, the in- formation reaching him being to the effect that Heger made the haul dur- ing the absence of the proprietor of the store, J. O. Sullivan, who was in the east on a three weel i The theft was not ¢ proprietor returned. The articles were sold in various parts of the state and | consisted of men’s furnishings. Later advices received from Man- dan by the Bismarck police are to the effect that Yeger sold an overcoat to Vhilip Young, formerly of Hebron. Young was in Mandan the first of the week wearing the coat which he pur- chased and which was recognized by Sullivan as one of those missing from his store. Passing himself as a detec- tive. Young was taken before the state’s attorney of Morton county. He proved his innocence and admitted making the purehase from Yeger. MAY MAKE CONFESSION. Chief of Police Downing stated this morning that evidence is so strong against Yeger that it is the belief of the Morton county sheriff as well as the Mandan police that Yeger will not face trial but will plead guilty to the charge of grand larceny. Some of the articles which he “lifted” from the store are reported to have been dis posed of at Glen Ullin and Casselton. Yeger was discharged from the Bos- ton Cash Store upon the return of the proprietor, according to the Bismarck police. AUTOMOBILE MAN AFTER WORE GARS W. E. Lahr of the ‘Lahr Motor Sales company, distributors of Overland and Willys-Knight cars, left last night on No. 2 for Toledo, O.. where he goes in an effort to obtain shipment of more Overlands. Mr. Lahr stated to the Tribune re- porter last evening that his firm was finding it impossible to obtain enough \cars to stipply their dealers, to say nothing about storing cars for the spring business, and that unless con- ditions improved very much it will be impossible to meet the demand for Overland and Willys-Knight cars this season. : Mr. Lahr will also visit the large rr rere HOTEL For SALE Hotel of 18 rooms.
