Mr .and Mrs. George Hedglen and children who have made their home at the Leese farm near Bemidji came up Friday snd are spending the Christmas holidays at the Levi ‘Foster home. Mr. and Mrs. Sam Fellows were dinner guests for Christmas day at the Levi Fosters. E. R. Lee made a business trip to Bemidji Tuesday. Carl Kluck walked home from Spur ?8 Christmas day, rather he welked as far as C. E. Coffins place and was met by his two boys with the sleigh there. The week just past we had thaw- ing weather most of the time, a fine time for the Christmas holidays, for which we wre very grateful. The pleasunt weather was about the nicest Christmas present we could have had. George Stensuid came home for the Christmas holidays with his fa- mily. The Pleasant Valley Farmers’ Club will meet at the E. R. Lee home on the second Wednesday in January, the meceting being post- poned one week. The Helping Hand Society will meet with Mrs. Tom Anderson on the first Wednesday instead of the second, the usual time. Grandpa and Grandma Gardner, whose home is at Olewein, Iowa, are here for a visit to their son F. V. Garnder and family. Grandpa and Grandma_ Gardner visited relatives and friends at St. Paul for a time before coming here. They have been spending a few weeks here each fall and are well known, being members of our Farm- er’s club and attending the meeting when here. 'As they expect to stay most of the winter this time the community extends to them a hearty | ! welcome. J. C. Volger was transacting business in Bemidji Thursday of last week. Levi Foster has been a frequent caller on Mr. Randall since he has been confined to his bed with ill- ness. The school house was well filled at the Christmas entertainment and tree last Thursday evening and a treat for everyone. The cvening was a very enjoyable time for the large audience pragent and a vote of ap- preciation is due the school force and others assisting. Julia Satterlee spent her Christ- mas holidays with her brother Carl Satterlec and family. Miss Satterlee is principal of the graded school at Gonvick, Minn. Mrs. J. C. Volger is spending the holidays with her sister, Mrs. Burns in Minncapolis.
