Cooley as superintendent of equipment for the Minnesota high- way department has becen anounced by Commissioner Charles M. Bab- cock. Mr. Cooley has accepted a position as special representative of a large tractor concern with head- quarters in Minneapolis and his new duties wil continue to bring.him in to_contact with highway officials throughout the state. J. T. Ellison, assistant highway commissioner and chief ‘bridge engineer for the de- partment, will assume the more im- portant work formerly handled by Mr.. Cooley, it was announced, and no new appointment will be made to the position. Mr. Cooley was on the engincer- ing staffs of the Minneapolis Park Board and Soo Line, then in the United States Reclamation Service at Washington, and ten years ago became -a member of the state high- way department of which his fath- er, the late George W. Cooley, was | chief engineer. He acted as high- way engineer for Mille Lacs, Crow Wing and Carver counties.
