It was thig club boy’s steer which cap- tured tne grand champmnsh\p and $1,200 in cash and prizes at and be- fore the recent Junior Livestock show. Becausc he had the three best baby beef he was given a trip to the International Livestock Exposi- tion in Chicago. While there he won the health or physical perfection contest for club boys and girls. Each state picked its best club ‘boy or girl for this annual health contest, and,the Elizabeth McCor- mick Foundation had charge of the cxaminations. Young Isaksen scored 97.3 points. A Tennessce girl won the contest in the girl’s division, scoring 96.30 points. Some 725 club boys and girls attending the Inter- national were eligible for entering the contest. Joe is 18 years of age, the son of a Norwegian father and a Danish motaer living at Springfield, Brown county, Minnesota. He is a fresh- man in the School of Agriculture at ‘University Farm, and saygs his money ‘will be invested largely in an educa- tion. Joe takes all his honors and !suecesses in a matter of fact way which emphasizes his fine modest qualities, ' The Minnesota juniorg attending the exposition also won first honors for club stunts. An entire evening was given to this contest. Minnesota‘s club stunt was improvised by leaders and youngsters on the train while going to Chicago.
