HEM , MR, CLOSERIST, DID MA KNOW NER FRIEWD, JIM POORE, DIED H\S MORMIN' 2 - | GPOSE ‘MS HIXS oL PRETTM HARD v~ UOL 'N CORRECTED ! 1 In setting the table, be sure that the knife blade is alwayg turned in. The glass or goblet should be at the top of the knife blade at the right of the plate. Last week witnessed the remnval of two of the old residents of Hub- bard county, viz, A. G. Irwin of Dor- set, proprietor of the Elbow Lake summer resort and Ed Irish of Ake- ley who has been proprietor of the Corner Drug store there since Ake- ley was a village. The winter- hes already begun to take its toll of those who are in any manner enfeebled and unable to withstand its requirements. The German Lutheran church is finished and the first service has been held in the beautiful building. It cost some $6,000 aside from some of the furnishings which were paid for by different individuals. It is a beautiful s(tuccoed structure, it is well furnished, hag plenty of room and a fullebasement. It is an ornament to the town and a credit to the society. The armory has biyn completed an the contractors have left, but the new Village-building in connection will not be done for some time. However, the council and firemen are occupy- ing the lower part while the com- munity club will have to wait for the ‘upper rooms. . A mass meeting was held in the Commercial club rooms Monday even- ing to give the voters opportunity to to legq what it is proposed to do with bonds to be voted on Wednes- day to improye the water system. It was showed beyond question that the need for pure and more water is an jmperative necessity but how the ¥ vote results remains to be determin- ed. If the bonds are voted a 70,000 * gallon tank will be erected and wells sunk which will supply an abundance of pure water at less cost than the filthy river water we have now.
