" THE. BRMIDJI DALY, PIONEER “PINK GODS” AT THE ELKO WEDNESDAY AND THURSDAY There are many scenes of romance and mystery in “Pirk Gods”, Penrhyn Stanlaw’s new Paramount production which comes to the Eiko theatre to- morrow and Thursday. They invoived the use of 100 of Los Angeles black- ©est Africans.to play Zulus. Boer nat ives. wmine guards and curious spec: tators. Im strong contrast to these are scenes-in luxurious hotels, with beautifully dressed women, and par- ticularly interesting are the exquis- jte-gowns worn by Anna Q. Nilsson and Bebe Daniéls. “The age-old lure of diamonds, for women and the lengths to which many women will go to acquire the prec- jous stomes, is the theme of this Cyn- thin Stockley story. To quote from the foreword “No Arabian tale can outstrip the romance of diamonds— tokens of love, but also perpetual symbols of strife and passion.” “SEEING'S BELIEVING™ AT THE " _GRAND THEATRE TONIGHT Viola, Dana, the facinating screen star, will be seen in her latest Metro Suceess entitled “Seeing’s Believeing” at the Grand theatre tonight ana Wednesday. In her new picture, Miss Dana has one 0f the most diverting of her many delightful roles. It gives her ample opportunity for indulging in the brand of comedy for which she has become famous. The story is thoroughly interesting and is sure to prove one of the most popular of this famous star’s productions. “THE ‘YELLOW FACE” AT REX THEATRE TONIGHT The. short pictures called The Ad- ventures. of Sherlock Holmes which Educational is distributing are the best possible means of telling on the screen ‘the famous detective. stories of Sir. Arthur Conan Doyle. The latest of these, “The Yellow Face” nwhidh. will be shown at the Rex theatre today, is as puzzling as any mysterytale ever put into words. “NICE PEOPLE” AT THE . L ELKO THEATRE TODAY Avcolorful portion of old Japan forms the background for anim- portant’series of scenes in William de-Mille’s most* recent Paramount Picture “Nice Pcople” which shows at the Elko theatre again tonight. /The scenc in an ultra-modern cafe done. in Japanese style. The first is America, the second are cosmopol- itan and the third is Hawaiian. The setting is one of ine mosi elaborate and lavish ever construcesd for the'scTeen. It consists of a spac- j6us entrance hall leading into a lirge Japanese garden illuminated by Oriental lights and lanterns, dot- ted with tables and boasting of nu- merous interesting pieces of Oriental sculptoring, vegetation, pergolas and pagodas. Wallace Reid, Bebe Daniels, Con- ed and Eve Sothern, Bertram Johus, William Boyd, Claire McDowell and others arc prominent in the cast. Clara Beranger adapted the story from Rachel Crothers successful stage play of the same name. “ROUGH AND READY” AT | REX THEATRE TONIGHT William Farnum, the William Fox star, is essentially a man of action who does thirigs,"hnd'he has attained the highest point of -popularity with picturegoers throughont the world. His picture, “Rough and Ready” at the Rex tieatre tonight, provides him with a great, smashing role of the sort that has endeared him to the people éverywhere. “VERY TRULY YOURS” AT REX THEATRE WEDNESDAY Shirley Mason, the Fox star, has some very odd matrimanial exper- jences in her latest picture, entitled “Very Truly Yours”—which exper- iences will be set forth on the screen of the Rex theatre Wednesday. As a hotel stenographer in a big city, Miss Mason thinks she is in love, then believes she isn’t, and finally reaches the conviction that she is. But mean- while what happens—inciuding three transcontinental trips—supplies ac- tion, comedy and other, that should furnish the best entertainment of the best sort. “THE BROADWAY PEACOCK” AT REX THEATRE FRIDAY Pear] White, famous star of Wil- liam Fox photoplays, will be seen at the Rex theatre Friday in her latest picture “Broadway Peacock”, which, as its title implies, is a story of the gaiety, frivolity, disasters and triumphs of persons who are swept into the entrancing life typified by New York’s Great White Way. Miss White's role is that of 2 daz- zling vivacious™ hostess of a noted cabaret, whose beauty and pesronal- ity keep the place seeting with merry- makers. She falls madly in love with a young aristocrat, despite the warn- ing of her pal that such an affair can only end in heartaches. o Stop at ] FREDERIC HOTEL in SAINT PAUL "+ - Rates; $2.50.and Down!
