'The cold-pressed oll is used for culinary and other pur- poses where a high-grade edible ofl is required, while the hot-pressed is em- ployed in making soaps and Russian varnishes. In 1911, more than 500 1ills in the Caucasus were engaged in pressing sunflower seed. It is pos- sible that the sunflower may some day be an Important oll-producing plant in tthis country.
