It was pretty generally belioved that Governor R. A. Nestos will tuke more votes than any of the rest on the state I. V. A, ticket. The gov- ernor is certain the head of the tick- et can beat Baker, the head of the Nonpartisan league ticket, There i lgn opinion .expressed pretty authori- tatively that Nestos will not lead the state ticket nor even head Senator Porter J. McCumber. Should factionism in the fusionist forces of the Republicans, independ- ents and Democrats result in the de- feat of Senator McCumber, the Non- partisan league undoubtedly will have both nominate dsenators in Washington. Senator Ladd, Nonpartisan, is in Washington serving out his term. Many I. V. A’s resent the fuct that McCumber did not come here to help in the recall clection last fall, but stayed in Washington keeping his hands off. His friends point out that the senator is so busy that he could not come home to campaign.
