Men come and bear uway her cargoed wares; Yet greater and more splendid things to me | From far bazaars and distant ports she bears. Along the great resounding dock there drifts The subtle scent of sandalwood and nard. ‘The harbor vanishes, the dream god lifts The curtains of Romance . . . Silent and starred Night in the silken East hath come again; Kashmiri vales and roses, fountain sprayed; The murinured love song of a temple maid . . And valiant days of swift, frec handed might; - Battle and conquest, lance and torch and flame; And love and youth and feasting through the night In Jamshid's court before the Mongols I came. Let whoso will take profit of the fleets; The gold and ivory, corn and oil and wine . My (r(-asures dock with every tide that beats . And cvery ship come In from sea Is mine. —C. T. Its high cost at present is the chief obstacle to its general use. When people recognize its intrinsic value, stainless iron will be used very extensively, says a stecl maker. At present the developméent is In its infancy, and the closest investi- gation is necessary before unqualified claims can be made or before the dis- covery can be fully exploited. Stainless |_ iron was regarded as one of the most im- portant metallurgical developments of 1921. A great future is prophesied for it in engineering construction. It is expected that eventually it will re- place copper, brass, and nickel in the manufacture of a wide variety of ar- ticles. For k;nt FOR RE\IT—Furmshcd house, phom lllo B(ml(ljl ave.
