C., for de- livery to R. H. Harper, Durant dis- tributor, the first train-load shipment of automobiles ever to be taken into the national capitol. An intéresting phase in connection with this shipment in' the fact that Mr. Harper did not receive his fran- as a Durant distributor until March 11, and in less than thirty days his sales of Durant cars in Washing- ton and vicinity has approached two bundred. The demand for delivery made necessary this week’s shipment. Train-loads of Durant cars have recently been shipped to Philadel- phia, Chicago, Cincinnati, Kansas City and Oakland, Cal., the latter be- ing the largest single shipment of any commodity ever carried across the continent.
