Miles Minter picture, “Sally Shows the Way,” will be shown at the Rex theatre Thuysday and Fri- day, and this 'dainty little star " has won many; friends for the manner in which protrays the character of «Sally Johnsgn,”;the poor little or- phan in.the story. But “Sally” does ot remain’a poor little orphan long. Her quick-transition from the drudge in the Braom and Mop section of a de- partment store to the adopted daugh- ter of ,a_rich and disagreeable old lady takes place in the first act. . Taken all 4n, al] {Sally: Shows the Way” is a “glad girl” stogég_{ a yn-, ique type ,and as the plot developes, with its little toughes of pathos, the| charming little actressin thé leading role holds the audience in,rapt at- téntion. The mercenary daughter- in-law and the grandson bring into the drama elements which add to the tension and give opportunity for a strong support to dispaly its histronic ability. The cast includes George Fisher, Eu- gene Forde, Gertrude Le Brandt, George Periolat and others, and the direction is by James Kirkwood, “HIGH-GEAR JEFFREY” AT REX THEATRE TONIGHT The . American-produced comedy- drama, “High-Gear Jeffrey,” featur- ing William Russell, nowat the Rex theatre, is_one of the best pictures ever eleased here. . It more than satis- fied a capacity audience last night with the fast'action and amusing sit- uations, which fill the. five acts.. This is one of the best plays in which the popular star has every appeared. The story, as it was written by Peter B. Kyne, shows the return of a husband believed dead, his mur- det and the trial by which the girl makes her greatest sacrifice to save the man she loves.
