FIXING IT UP. A NEW WAY Now ! You LooK * TWENT YEARS YOUNGER~ \ASD HARDLY HNOW YoU ~ — BN I BEEN THINKING . WED HAVE FUN IF WE GOT A LITTLE CAMPING OUTFIT TO TAKE ON WEEK END_ TRIPS IN MY WEEK NEVER FORGET “HOME TOWN" However Humble, Sentiment En- " shrings.Spots in the Hearts of Its Song and Daughters. - It isn’t the fine buildings and the broad streets, the gorgeous homes and spaclous gardens that count—it's the sentiment hovering around the spot that marks the “home town” as the best place on earth, writes Florence Wehster Long In the Indianapolis Styr. It this were not the case, only the blg " cltles would count in the summing up of the earth’s worthwhile places. And ‘where is the cross-roads town that hasn’t as many boosters as it has resi- way off In a lonely corner of the back- woods looms up largely as the center of ‘the universe. It's a sort of patri- otism, it's a brand of native pride, and it's all mixed largely with sentiment without which life wouldn’t be worth living anyway. I can remember long ago visiting a school friend whose glowing accounts of her home had held out the glamor of a glorious prospect. I can see in memory that simple little home circle set_amid the humdrum monotony of small village life, and my surprise as 1 contrasted It with my friend’s tales. But how I know that the girl was simply describing . things as they ‘seemed to her, softened by distance, hallowed by sentiment, and tinged by the: softening influence of a homesitke ness for the magic spot “home.” Why Not? CLAIN, HE STATES St. Paul Struck the Death Blow at Once to His Rheumatism “The day I bought my first bottle of Tanlac was the day I struck the death blow to my rheumatism,” de- clared W. H. Woods, of 503 Rondo St., St. Paul, Minn. | “About three years ago I had an attack of rheumatism which stuck to me and kept getting worse. My arms and shoulders hurt me every minute , day and night, and there were times when every bone and joint in my body seenfed to ache. I was very nervous, too, and it seem- ed next to impossible for me to get any sound sleep at night. “No medicine I could get hold of seemed to touch my case at all and things got to looking pretty dark to me, for I had tried so many things in vain I couldn’t see anything ahead but a life-time of suffering from rheu- matism. “Things went on this way until one day I read a statement describing my case so well I determined to try Tan- lac. That was just about the best thing I ever did ,for I-began to straighten up right from the start, and now every trace of my rheuma- tism is gone. I never feel an ache or a pain anywhere, am not nervous 1 a particle and sleep like a log at { night. . My appetite has ‘picked up 2. so that I have gained ten pounds in/ weight and feel. a thousand times better. Tanlac has certainly back- ed up every claim ever made for it| ‘ in my case, and I am glad to give it my recommendation.” y Sold in Bemidji by the City Drug| Store.—Advertisement.
