FRIDAY EVENING, JULY 1, 1921 — THE BEMIDJT DAILY PIONEER (—‘ufi Buggies—Things to-worry-about OW DEAR MY HAIR “WILL BE - AL OVER IF 1 DONT PUT A VEIL -ON- - _— = (MY AR 5 TERRSLE =Y HOLD MY VEIL TiLL 1CAN GET IT PINNED — o TOUR HAIRS AWRIGHT- KKK KKK KKK KKK KK * PINEWOOD * AR KRR KKK KR The Pinewood baseball team met their Waterloo at the hands of the Bemidji team on the Pinewood dia- mend Sunday, when the score was 2| to 9 in favor of Bemidji. A young man in our town took a‘: young lady out for a joy-ride in one: of those mechanical contrivances called an automobile. The day was beautiful and the scenery was grand, | but near the end of the road they run into a mudhole and got stuck. There was no_little Ford nor horse to come to their rescue, but a pair of the “bovine specia” called oxen pull- ed them out and the car was not a “flivver” either. The Miller sawmill at Buzzle lake will soon be done sawing. It is new | machinery that does the work and lots of it. Come and look our work over. Visitors are- welcome. Miss Madie Sthol of Bemidji and| her neice, Miss Marian Ohman of | Minneapolis, arrived here Monday for a visit at the Lindgren home near town. A. G. Gilbertson and K. K. Mel- land were inspecting roads Satur- da; y. Carl Clauson attended the auction' at Louis. Winger's farm, near Debs, ' Thursday. He was clerk of the auc- tion. & Mr. and Mrs. Nels Rude autoed to Bemidji Wednesday to attend the circus. © Elmer and Melvin Beckin, John Balmer, Gunhield Tomy and Sylvan Fossend went to.Bemidji Wednesday to take in the circus. + Pinewood was weji represented ev- ery night at the Chautauqua at Leon- ard and we must give Leonard credit | for providing this good, clean enter- tainment. The- same Chautauqua | will be there again next year. Tom Fossena visited relatives at | Kelliher the fore part of this week. Mrs. A.: G. Sthol and daughter | Lillie, of Bemidji, and Mrs. and Mrs. | Ohman. of St. Paul , called on old; frienids in Pinewood Saturday. | Harold Olson had the misfortune! to go through the bridge across Clearwater river, west of town, Fri-| day morning, with a horse and buggy. | He was not hurt, nor was much dam- | age done, but this should be a warn-| ing to the town board to do some- thing.
