S e DRESSING IT UP Corresponding to the growth of the Bemidji State Teach- ers college since the institution was erected are the plans of the school to beautify its campus, State Architect A. R. Nichols of Minneapolis is superintending the work and indications are that within a short time this campus will add greatly to the beauty of the institution. The college also includes in its xmprovement program the repair of the road leading from the end of Dewey avenue to Diamond Point. The plans cover the repair of the first portion of the road. From there on, the Park Board has promised to! put the road in good shape, and it is the intention of the board Now Is the Time The demand this season has been almost entirely for small low priced gas ranges. As a result, our stock of large and finest ranges is standing Stl]l and' we need the money, as well as more consumers. No. 881 Stewart Combination. .was - 132—now. 110 . Bemidji has decided this year to have no celebration on'the Fourth of July, namely for the reason that it was believed to be a wise move in order to let nearby towns celebrate. Heretofore, Bemidji has had a celebration each year and has drawn thou- sands of visitors from the neigghboring towns and villages, as well as from the surrounding: country. It is now Bemidji’s chance to return some of those visits. The Civic and Commerce association urges that as many Bemidji people as possible go to any one of the nearby towns awvhere celebrations are to be held this year, and let them know that Bemidji is willing to co-operate with them all." The plan Every resident of Bemidji and the entire surroundmg dis- trict-should make it a point to boost for the Northern Minnesota Fair, to be held at Bemidji, September 20-23, every time that an opportunity is offered. ' Such an onportunity is offered ‘on July Fourth, when a large number of Bemidji people are expected to go to nearby towns to celebrate, Advertising signs have been printed for use on automobile wheels and we urge that willing boosters call on W. Z, Robinson, chairman of the publicity com- mittee, at once and get one of these signs before making any more trips out of town. T P e B ONE THING IN FAVOR OF IT One big thing in' favor of holdmg the Dempsey-Carpentier title patch at Jersey Cxty, July 2, is the fact that the United States govemment _stands in line to receive approximately half a million dollars in tax provided that the receipts are as heavy as expected. ‘A good slice will be realized anyway, and the government is sure to realize more than either of the boys who are putting the gloves on, or their managers. - 1\ Ghe Qurtia Hntel ' 10th STREET AT FOURTH AVENUE _ MINNEAPOLIS The Northwest’s Largest and Most Baau{llfnl Hostelry All Rooms are Outside and Each Room has Private Bath TARIFF: =Y 75 Rooms (Private Baths) Single at $2.00—Double $3.00 325 Rooms (Private Baths) Single at $2.50—Double $3.50 200 Rooms (Private Baths) Single at $3 00—Dauble $4.00 Others from $4.00 to.$15.00 The Beltrami County Fair association this year is promis- dng a bigger and better fair than ever before, with enough en- II|IIIIIIIIIIIIIII|I||II|IIIIIIIIIIIIIlIIlIIIlIIIII|||IIllIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIHHII ‘IIIIIIIIIII|IIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIllIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII|lI|IIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII'.
