NO. 45 Bids to Be Readvertised for County Bond Issue for’ Road Construction’ ¢ em———— \ A committee consisting of Chair- man Edward Paulson of the board of county commissioners, County At: torney GGraham M. Torrance and en- gineer William ‘M. Everts, has been named by the.board of county cor:|yg missioners 'now; in_ session, to” go to Warren, the county seat of Marshall county on June 14, to protest against ‘the constpuction of consolidat ‘@iteh No. 1 which is being petition: for by a mumber of settlers Tn the Grygla district. Road) blds which were advertised . to be opened June 9, were not opened s there were no funds with which to finance the contracts if they were awarded. 'Two bond issues, one of $100,000, and one of $250,000, will ngain) be advertised for sale on July 12. ‘These bonds have been previous- 1y advertised for sale but on account of the highways on which the most of the'money was to be spent had not vet ofticially been designated as part of the Bahcock system it is necessary to readvertise. The $100,000 are to be sol¢ and the proceeds taken to reimbursé .the county for expended on the Babcock highways in the county.. The state required that the bonds be issued by the coun- ty and sold and it will thentake them over which is practically the same as the state directly refunding the money to ‘the county. This is fhe method, however, required by the state in this matter. : The resignation of George Camp- bell as commissioner of the “Lake Julia Sanatorium was accepted. and a new commissioner will be appoint- éd in his place before the adjourn- ment of the board of commissioners. The road running past the Pine Tree north of Puposky was desig- nated as a county road, = This will mean the completing of a two mile stretch of this road which will give the settlers in that community ‘an outlet north'to the Red Lake. ‘The ‘board officially asked the state department to take over thé remain- der of the.construction of the road from Cass Lake to Solway. ; s S ERERERNEXRRERRRES * GRANT VALLEY- Knapp visited Mrs, Fred Lgn‘e Tues- day. i35 ' Andrew Putnam ‘and"wife were guests of Max- Lubeck ' and . wife Motiday evening. i A.-R.
