Millar spent Wednesday and Thursday visiting friends at Be- midji. T. O. Gelen, who has been in the hospital at Bemidji, where he under- went an operation, returned home Saturday. The Basket social at Nelson's hall Saturday evening, given for the Pine- wood baseball team, was well attend- ed and between $60 and $70 was re- ceived from the baskets. There were */several Solway young folks present to help boost. The forest fire Sujday kept the residents of Pinewood busy_ for.a while as it got near the wood yard, but with plenty of help at hand it was soon under control. The first ball game of the season was played here Supday between the Pinewood team and a farmers’ team west of town there was a large large crowd present and they all did their best.
